Amtrak has announced that it will bring back service to the NY State Fair this year. By including stops to the New York State Fair station (NSF) on select Empire Service and Maple Leaf trains, Amtrak is hoping to increase ridership towards the end of the summer season.

The Details
By running the train daily between Wednesday, August 24th and Monday, September 5th, Amtrak will provide a convenient way for those in NYC and other parts of the state to get to the fair.
For those that want to go, trains 63, 281, and 283 will be offering service out of NYC and trains 64 and 284 will be offering service out of Niagara Falls to the fair.
By offering stops at the NY State Fair, Amtrak is hoping to capitalize on the fair’s popularity and end the summer on a high note!
Kyle’s Tips
Kyle’s Tips: If you are looking to take the train, I would recommend you book early. As the summer comes to a close and people are using up the last days of their vacation, there will be more traffic on these routes, both for the fair and for other trips within the state. By booking early, you will be able to guarantee a seat and take advantage of Amtrak’s See NY and Save promotion.
For those that want to buy their ticket closer to the day, Amtrak currently offers discounts for kids, seniors, and others. By taking advantage of these discounts, you will be able to save some money to spend on all of those yummy treats at the fair!
